We offer counselling services designed to support children and young people with additional needs, including autism spectrum differences, ADHD, dyslexia, and emotional or sensory challenges. Our counselling approach is calm, flexible, and tailored to individual communication styles, learning preferences, and emotional needs.
We also provide guidance and emotional support for parents and families, recognising the importance of a whole-family approach to wellbeing and positive outcomes.
Before counselling begins, we carry out an initial assessment to ensure support is appropriate, safe, and effective. The assessment helps us understand the child or young person’s strengths, emotional needs, communication preferences, and any factors that may affect engagement in counselling.
This allows us to:
Identify the most suitable counselling approach
Adapt communication and session structure
Ensure counselling is SEN-aware and child-centred
Support parents and families effectively
An initial assessment helps create a supportive foundation for meaningful and positive progress.
As part of our SEN-friendly counselling services, support may include:
Emotional wellbeing and regulation
Anger management
Anxiety, stress, and low mood
Self-esteem and confidence building
Sensory and emotional processing challenges
Social and communication difficulties
Transitions, change, and school-related concerns
Emotional support and guidance for parents/ caregivers
All counselling support is delivered in an inclusive, understanding, and supportive environment.
